Are You Ready?

Doing our community-based research was tough because of the hectic schedule and other tasks we needed to do. Ma'am Evelyn grouped us into groups of all whom lived in the same municipality. Our research topic is emergency response and disaster preparedness. Since San Julian, Bantay, Ilocos Sur are prone to flooding, we decided to choose San Julian as the focus of our study.

At first, we don't know what or how we'll start the task. We gathered our ideas together and planned what we're going to do. After planning and organising our thoughts, our leader divided the tasks. Regardless of the limited time, we still managed to get everything done because all of the members listened to everyone's ideas and helped each other to achieve this successful project.

Through this research, I've gained a lot of things, one of which is that by prioritising immediate and effective responses in a barangay, lives can be saved, injuries minimised, and the overall well-being of the affected can be improved. I can say that San Julian is one of the great barangays that is prepared when it comes to natural disasters. Together, we can achieve success.
