One More Step Forward

Assessing my academic performance from the third quarter, I can say that I'm proud of how far I've come. The third quarter was full of activities, performance tasks, and challenges. The amount of responsibilities was unmanageable, and doubts grew across my ability to keep going, yet I still managed to finish all the things I had to do. I've learned a lot of things that have helped me succeed, but I've also come to appreciate the important lessons I've learned from my failures.

Despite the obstacles we are now facing, I believe that everything is going to get better. There were moments when the journey looked tough and failures felt unavoidable. There were times when it seemed easier to give up to the strong force of unfortunate circumstances and moments of doubt and frustration. Still, I kept on reminding myself of my ultimate goal and the determination that pushed me on my path after every setback.

Moving on, I'm going to seek inspiration for my approaching pursuits based on the mistakes I made this quarter. I want to learn from this experience so that I can be better prepared for such situations in the future. Every challenge you encounter is an opportunity for personal development. Be proud of your ability to take on obstacles head-on.

Are You Ready?

Doing our community-based research was tough because of the hectic schedule and other tasks we needed to do. Ma'am Evelyn grouped us into groups of all whom lived in the same municipality. Our research topic is emergency response and disaster preparedness. Since San Julian, Bantay, Ilocos Sur are prone to flooding, we decided to choose San Julian as the focus of our study.

At first, we don't know what or how we'll start the task. We gathered our ideas together and planned what we're going to do. After planning and organising our thoughts, our leader divided the tasks. Regardless of the limited time, we still managed to get everything done because all of the members listened to everyone's ideas and helped each other to achieve this successful project.

Through this research, I've gained a lot of things, one of which is that by prioritising immediate and effective responses in a barangay, lives can be saved, injuries minimised, and the overall well-being of the affected can be improved. I can say that San Julian is one of the great barangays that is prepared when it comes to natural disasters. Together, we can achieve success.

Memories in Motion: Ilocos Sur National High School's 122nd Foundation Day

As March 9 approaches, Ilocos Sur National High School is very alive. After the long wait because of the pandemic, the actual celebration that everyone had been waiting for finally took place. A lively foot parade that opened the day highlighted the creativity and unity of the students at our school. After the parade, a spectacular field demo with captivating performances from every grade level kept the fun going.

As we performed the Sinulog, the Grade 10 Boys won the CHAMPION title, while the Girls placed third in the field demonstration. As I go on to further things that day, it doesn't make me any less excited or happy. When I saw everyone on the athletic field that time smiling despite the heat, the struggles were all worthwhile.

After the field demo, the Ilocos Sur National High School hosted a concert for a cause. Watching some of my classmates and friends perform on stage made me feel very proud. While listening to the many songs they are playing, I can still clearly recall how my loudest voice came out, especially when they play a song from my favourite bands like Ben & Ben, Eraserheads, and Air Supply.

It is indeed the best high school day ever. I have many memories from this day that I will treasure forever. I call it a day full of satisfaction, amusement, and camaraderie. I look forward to more years of celebrating high school day at Ilocos Sur National High School. Aim High, Fly Soar! Agragsak, ISNHS:))

Lift Her Up

 BABAE KA, HINDI BABAE LANG.

Women's Month is observed worldwide every March to celebrate the accomplishments, contributions, and resilience of women globally. "Babae ka, Hindi Babae Lang” is a potent reminder of the numerous aspects of women's identities and roles that go beyond conventional expectations and stereotypes.

It's an opportunity to take stock of the progress made towards the goal of gender equality and to recommit to tackling the enduring issues that women endure. Women still face barriers that prevent them from fully taking part in society and being empowered, from unequal access to healthcare and education to discrimination and violence based on gender.

Moreover, we celebrate the women who have broken through glass walls, challenged expectations, and paved the path for upcoming generations by celebrating Women's Month. We give respect to the mothers, sisters, friends, and women who have given so much to their families, neighbourhoods, and societies. Women's Month is also an opportunity to raise the voices of women and promote gender equality in all its forms. Now is the moment to hear the stories of women, highlight their accomplishments, and raise awareness of their aspirations for equality, justice, and respect.

To conclude, Women's Month is a movement for change as well as a time to celebrate. This is a time to pay respect to and acknowledge the priceless contributions made by women to our society. Now is the moment to reaffirm gender equality and to create a future in which "Babae ka, Hindi Babae Lang" is a reality for all women, not simply a catchphrase.

The Vibrant World of Estudyantepreneurship

Students, creativity, and an entrepreneurial spirit come together at the vivid and exciting Estudyantepreneur School Fair. As I went through the lively school fair, I couldn't help but observe the vivid displays at the Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE). Students can use the fair as a platform for developing their ideas and bringing them to life, encouraging an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset. From gaming booth, snack bars, film viewing, photo booth, and laminating and printing services, the Estudyantepreneur School Fair is a melting pot of creativity.

In addition to inspiring students to consider their business possibilities, the fair encourages cooperation and teamwork. Numerous booths are the outcome of cooperative learning, in which students with various skill levels work together to produce something truly amazing. One of these is the film made by the Grade 8 students of Leeuwenhoek. The students were able to showcase their filmmaking skills despite the short film's time frame.

To sum up, the Estudyantepreneur School Fair is more than merely a gathering; rather, it serves as evidence of the student organisation's potential for entrepreneurship. In each carefully thought-out space, teachers additionally showcased their efforts and gave explanations of their inspiring concepts, which served as motivation. Throughout my visit to the TLE booth, I truly enjoyed engaging in the several interesting activities that the officers and teachers have to offer.
